Contracts & Conflict Resolution Brokers know that nothing good comes as a certified letter or as a phone call starting out as “We need to talk!” or as “Mr. Smith’s attorney is on the phone.”… Negotiated agreements don’t always work as well as we think they should and sometimes “stuff happens”. We’ll review the contract and the areas where negotiations can go wrong. When that happens, we’ll review the contract’s conflict resolution provisions, how mediation works, and actually do a short mediation. Kathy Howe teaches this class as one of 25 Maricopa County Court volunteer mediators. She was originally trained in Hawaii and after returning to Arizona, went through the mediation training given by the AZ Attorney General’s office. Office Policy – Workshop is an opportunity to work on your office policies. ADRE requires that brokers have office policies if you are more than 2 licensees (DB and 2 other licensees). If you are a DB with only 1 other licensee, you are not required to have office policies. This is for agents as well as brokers. The scope of this class is to educate licensees as to the regulatory requirements of running an office and the rules by which licensees must operate. 3 hrs Commissioner’s Standards.
